Where should you start and what do you need? We have set up a solution that includes faxing, servers, email, accounting, user PCs, and implementation of these products.

Step one: Decide on the amount of employees that your company will have. Our suggested model caters for but is not limited to, 5 users.

Step two: Do you need email? Most companies do. And if you think you don’t, think again. Internet and email contributes to more than 66% of all businesses.

Step three: What is my business all about? If you thought about starting your own business, this is the easiest part. You know what you want to do. You just need the tools to do it. Most companies deliver a service to the public. We have included Pastel Partner to assist you with your invoicing.

Step four: Location location location. Are you going the wireless route, or the cable route. IP Dimension charges R500 excl. per network point that they install. Wireless configurations are less expensive, but also slower. We prefer to do a site inspection to enable us in giving you the best possible advice in setting up your infrastructure.

Step five: Get the goods. IP Dimension will supply all the equipment to you and install it for a minimal fee. And that is not where it ends…… We also provide aftermarket support. We will gladly assist you with all your IT queries. IP Dimension cares about their clients and we aim to build partnerships rather than just selling products.

For the small business market (1 to 75 users), we recommend Windows Small Business Server 2008 64 bit standard.

Features include

  • Microsoft Exchange server 2007 for your email and shared calendars
  • Sharepoint Services 3.0 which allows you to share documents via an internal company website and post important notices for all your employees
  • Centralised management of all resources including printers and shared folders

We recommend business level computers for the users. These include Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Office Small Business Edition. This package consists of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook. Eset NOD32 is also our anti virus of choice for the small business setup.

The Server

This is an Intel Server with
- A Xeon 3230 2.6 GHz Processor
- 4GB of Server RAM
- 2 x 500GB Hard drives for redundancy
- A DVD Writer, K/B, Mouse and Monitor

Software will include Pastel Partner 2009 with server licenses

and Windows Small Business Server 2008 64bit Standard.

We also supply a 1000Va UPS to keep your server up and running.

The User PC

Inclusive of Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (available from 22 Oct - 09), Office Small Business Edition, Eset NOD32, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor. 2GB of RAM and 160GB of hard drive space is included. These units also have a Core 2 Duo 2.9 GHz Processor and a DVD writer and includes 1 Pastel user license ( Less R 1,400.00 excl if Pastel is not needed)

The Network

We will install a cabinet at your premises which will house some of the cabling and network switches. The cabinet is large enough to house the ADSL router and fax modem as well.
The rest of the cabling will be installed on site in truncking with termination points at each workstation.
